Founded in 1996 by Mac Chappell, Mac-Hire is a UK Plant Hire company based in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. With more than 30 years of groundworks and plant hire experience, Mac-Hire is an approved contractor for Somerset County Council and Mendip District Council. Mac says,"Although we have worked on some very large projects for various councils, Thorpe Park and the River Authorities, we also hire out equipment for small domestic jobs. So, we have everything from 10 ton dumpers to 3/4 ton micro diggers that are small enough to pass through the door of a standard house." Mac-Hire can also supply specialist equipment like Red Rhino Crushers and Viper mini sizer screens. A recent addition to the Plant List is the RM60 Rubble Master (a high performance crusher with a throughput of up to 80t/h). Mac explains, "The Viper mini sizer is one of the best mobile screens on the market. It is small enough to be moved easily around a site, yet big enough to handle 40 tons of material per hour. The main benefits of reconditioning waste products for use on site are savings in time and money. But, in addition to lower transport and running costs, there are also significant environmental benefits. Recycling waste materials on site means raw material costs are reduced and less is sent to landfill sites.
